2010 saw the Redbridge Marquetry Group hold its annual marquetry
competition.
Although this is usually an annual
event; due to exceptional circumstances, we were unable to host the
competition in 2009, so this meant that we had a goodly amount of
exhibits for this year's competition.
Our good friends at the Thurrock
Group kindly provided two judges for our competition. A daunting task
it was too, but the two judges are well accustomed to the job, having
cut their teeth on National Marquetry Exhibitions and suchlike. We
thank them both for a job well done.
Most of our entries this year were
marquetry pictures, we only had a couple of applied pieces for this
competition, although, of course, they were of superb quality!
