A
short
while ago, one of our Redbridge group's
members happened to come across an old veneer trade sample book
that contained 84 genuine examples of veneers sourced from all
over the world.
This sample
book was issued in the 1950's and appears not to have been
opened for many years.
This then presented us with a useful reference source of 84
veneer pieces that were all over 50 years old, and not one of
them had been exposed to sunlight in nearly all that time. As we
all know, sunlight can have a detrimental effect on many veneers
over a period of time, so to find some that had only been
affected by time and not by sunlight was, for us, an interesting
experience.
So that you
can share this very useful reference source with us, we have
carefully scanned each veneer and accurately matched each one's
on screen appearance with its true appearance.
We hope you
find these old veneer examples as interesting as we have done.
They are displayed in alphabetical order of veneer species. |
